Administrative Assistant, Planning – ACD

Job Summary:
Supports the Planning Department through Material Requirements Planning (MRP) by analyzing and releasing manufacturing work orders to production to meet schedule demands. Responsible for maintaining work orders within production departments delegated by Director, Supply Chain.

Summary of Duties:
• Generates and releases manufacturing jobs for customer orders.
• Determines if there are products / parts shortages for orders that have been released for assembly, takes action to expedite missing products / parts.
• Enters data into company ERP system at the close of production run to produce the shipping pick list for the products manufactured.
• Facilitate smooth production flow by ensuring that all required parts and support equipment are available to the production floor in alignment with the production plan.
o Expedite part shortages to assigned work-center
o Fulfill Manufacturing Order kit backorders
o Manage all requests needed to support critical items through the Receiving process
• Coordinate with all applicable department Supervisors, Team Leads and other focal-points to ensure on-time delivery of parts to assigned area
• Accurately track part shortages, including estimated delivery dates, and/or Materials Review Board disposition status
• Coordinate with all applicable parties to properly quarantine and document non-conforming and/or rejected product.
• Regularly communicate part status information to area Managers and Leads
• Participate in Gemba meetings and Supply Chain shortage meetings
• Actively assist in the management of Manufacturing Orders that have been released to the Production Floor
o Distribute Manufacturing Orders to the appropriate work-centers
o Manage debits and credits to Manufacturing Orders kits list in local MRP system
o Support the full closure for all Manufacturing Orders
• Execute the pulling and issuance of parts in local MRP in support of job duties
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Candidate skills & requirements
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in logistics or supply chain management, APICS certification or similar is a plus.
Experience: 1 – 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or materials environment.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS office applications, particularly spreadsheet management
Other Skills: Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail, effective oral and written communications skills, ability to interact respectfully with peers and all levels of management. Inherent ability to understand and follow health and safety policies, procedures, requirements & regulations
