Overview

JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant/Receptionist

Reports To: Senior Accountant & Director of Finance

Status: Full-Time Hourly

SUMMARY:

The Overland Park Convention Center seeks a skilled, detailed and customer service focused individual for the position of Administrative Assistant/Receptionist.

The position performs receptionist duties and operation of a private branch exchange telephone switchboard. The Receptionist represents the facility as the initial contact for prospective clients and the general public. Also performs various accounting and administrative duties.

This role will pay a wage of $19.00

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES (Including, but not limited to):

§ Answers and appropriately routes incoming telephone calls

§ Receives visitors, provides prescribed information, and answers routine questions

§ Receives and delivers messages using prescribed methods

§ Handles all incoming mail and distributes appropriately

§ Logs all incoming checks

§ Assists with event folder production and management and deposit tracking

§ Assists with certificate of insurance tracking for vendors and clients

§ Assists with various miscellaneous assignments

§ Other duties/projects as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

§ Good customer service skills

§ Skilled in proper operation of a telephone switchboard

§ Capable of presenting a professional image for the facility

§ Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

§ Clerical accounting skills preferred

§ Graduation from high school or vocational school

§ One-year experience in switchboard or public contact work
