Official Position Description:
Provides general secretarial assistance for assigned park by performing routine administrative tasks: coordinates daily work flow of office (e.g., sets up office procedures, revises content of manuals, forms, correspondence &/or filed information;); serves as liaison between management & staff to communicate & collect paperwork (e.g., new hire paperwork); cross references data requiring multiple computations; researches paper/electronic boating/title documents/records for hull identification number (HIN) registration problems; uses point-of-sale system to process campground registrations, state & private dock transactions; provides excellent customer service (e.g., answers phones, screens & directs calls, greets visitors, gives directions, respond to park e-mail account); assists with cabin check-in process (e.g.; adds, moves & changes to check-ins); prepares & makes bank deposits; handles & audits registration monies when requested by supervisor; gathers, summarizes & compiles data (e. g., generates report, prepares weekly summary of revenue, submits information to division, resolves park & watercraft activities); gathers, summarizes, compiles, & enters data for park inventory(e.g., boat docks), and Voyager; compiles, reviews and maintains Special Activity Permits.
Assists new employees with paperwork, computer, and time activity setup; assists with coordination of volunteer background checks and electronic reporting.
Produces typed copy to include formatting, or assisting in formatting, of documents (e.g., typing memos & forms, inventory reports, payroll reports) & routine correspondence as directed by supervisor/management; proofreads work; performs mail merges; creates & manages assigned park records & files (prepares record retention & disposal schedules, creates & verifies information).
Performs other clerical duties (e.g., opens, sorts & distributes incoming mail, prepares materials for outgoing mail, researches responses to inquiries, P-card holder, orders & stocks office supplies, orders gasoline & diesel fuel, contacts minority vendors by phone & mail to place orders & obtain pricing information, files, maintains calendar, makes copies, schedules meetings); assists with various parks & watercraft business activities (e.g., verifies/audits phone bills, credit card logs, vehicle gas books, fleet management paperwork); assist with payroll review; operates park radio; may drive state vehicle from area to area of the park, district, & state to perform job duties (e.g., run errands, pick up supplies, attend meetings, training, & conferences).
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be confined to work area for long periods of time; may perform high-volume, repetitive tasks with short turnaround.

Qualifications
1 yr. trg. or 1 yr. exp. in secretarial science or business office applications.
For positions requiring technical terminology, applicants must also have 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in relevant technical terminology.
