What You’ll Do:

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office is currently seeking an organized and motivated individual for an Administrative Professional 2 position in the Education Section. This position is responsible for performing a variety of clerical, procedural and administrative tasks for the section. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The headquarter location is our Columbus, Ohio office. The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Relieves supervisor of routine administrative duties
  • Researches and analyzes materials, information and programs
  • Makes recommendations regarding program activities
  • Provides technical information and advice to administrators to aid in decision making
  • Assists in developing new procedures related to established program policy
  • Transcribes, formats and/or assists in formatting, typing and proofreading standard and/or technical correspondence and reports
  • Processes bills for payment
  • Purchases supplies and equipment
  • Keeps fiscal and operational records
  • Performs public relations duties and facilitates tours of the office
  • Assists with background checks
  • Works on special assignments and projects as directed
  • Prepares reports, publications, and memos

Qualifications
Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; and typing skill of 50 words per minute.

-Or 18 months experience or 18 months training in secretarial/administrative professional field; and typing skill of 50 words per minute.

-Or 6 months experience as Administrative Professional 1, 16871AG.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience preferred in data entry.

– Experience preferred in Matrix or other related document management platform.
