What You’ll Do:

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio State Highway Patrol
Report In Location: 740 East 17Th Avenue, Columbus, 43211
[CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE] Will report into the office 3 days a week and telework 2 day a week. Subject to change.

Under direction of the Highway Patrol Staff Lieutenant in the Office of Recruitment & Diversity, relieves superior of routine administrative duties (e.g., greet & respond to in-person, telephone &/or written inquiries; screen & direct incoming correspondence to appropriate personnel for response; draft & respond to routine correspondence; proof & sign correspondence as needed; update & maintain unit calendars & arrange meetings; etc.); Collects & maintains Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) data; Assists the division CALEA officer with collecting & providing proof files for CALEA standards; Maintains & updates applicant information on current year & master recruitment disqualification list; Serves as liaison between administrator & subordinates; Transmits decisions & directives; Assists with managing TELEO human resources software; Assists with recruitment scheduling (i.e., recruitment testing, physical fitness testing, psychological testing, etc.); Schedules job & career fairs; Receives & fulfills public records requests.

Manages business functions of the office of Recruitment & Diversity (e.g., creates & maintains files (i.e., applicant, personnel, equipment, database, training); orders, receives & stocks supplies for the recruitment & diversity office, etc.); Maintains contracts for Psychological Assessment vendors (e.g., tracks & enters ERQ’s, etc.).

Performs clerical tasks (e.g., answers phone & screens calls; assists with the administrative paperwork & scheduling for events); Prepares records retention & disposal schedules & arranges record transfers; Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college.

-Or 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

-Or 6 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 1, 16871.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
