Administrative Specialist CL1: Sullivan Recreation and Fitness Complex (2nd Position)

This Administrative Specialist position will pay a starting rate of $16.84/hour for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee with the University of Maine System. This position is a full-time position based on our Portland Campus. A part-time schedule (no less than 32 hours per week) may be considered. The full-time schedule for this position is as follows (and may be adjusted to accommodate a part-time, 32-hour per week schedule) :

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 12:30PM – 9:00PM
  • Saturday: 7:30AM – 4:00PM
  • Sunday: 8:30AM – 5:00PM

The Administrative Specialist position is primarily responsible for opening the Sullivan Gym Complex, as well as providing administrative support to the Manager on the overall day-to-day operations. This position will also supervise work-study students and department funded students during the morning hours. Work involves interacting with internal and external contacts as well as handling verbal and written communications for a broad range of questions. The ability to work as part of a team is essential, as are providing exemplary customer service, maintaining confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and sufficient experience, including two years administrative support experience.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Good communication skills.
