Position Title:Administrative Support Clerk
Accountable to:HOPES PH Program (grant funded)
General Description: The primary objective of this position is to assist in all aspects of the San Antonio Food Bank Hospitality Opportunities for People (Re)Entering Society HOPES) Program. This role will also assist the HOPES Case Manager with daily transactions and data entry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Greet volunteers and assist with the sign-in procedures.
• Collect necessary data to document compliance with HOPES Program policies and processes and fulfill requirements and deliverables.
• Promote, educate, advocate, and connect customers with employment and/or training opportunities.
• Assist customers in gathering all required documentation as necessary, such as birth certificate, social security card, and Texas ID/Driver’s License.
• Handle and safeguard highly confidential information.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with all customers, SAFB staff and volunteers. Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and volunteers.
• Facilitate referrals of clients to other community agencies and hiring events.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Obtain and file documentation.
• Enter data into CaseMGR program to record contacts, education/training, support services, Restaurant Ready Training, and case notes. Enter initial enrollment data into CaseMGR. Training will be provided.
• Must be able to interact with customer base which consists ex-felons.
• Coordinates with National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF), Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), Windham School District (WSD), Texas Restaurant Foundation (TRF), San Antonio Restaurant Association (SARA), authorized TDCJ Units, and local parole/probation offices to obtain documents and assist HOPES customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma preferred.
• Customer-service oriented with knowledge in assisting customers obtain employment.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Computer-literate with in-depth knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet such as Google, Chrome, and job search engines.
• Able to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Excellent organizational, planning, time management and critical thinking skills.
• Strong ethical character capable of exercising good judgment, integrity, discretion and overseeing confidential information.
• Ability to be courteous, patient and display tact in public.
• Reliable transportation and valid Texas Driver’s License, and insurance.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Must have the ability to always represent the San Antonio Food Bank in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions.
