Horizons for Homeless Children (Horizons) is a local non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of young homeless children in Massachusetts and helping their families succeed by providing high-quality early education, opportunities for play, and comprehensive family support services.
What you’ll do
As the Office Assistant, you’ll support our highly skilled and dedicated Admissions and Financial Assistance team. You’ll work closely with the team to ensure that admissions processes run smoothly, and that compliance is met. You will assist in entering family and child data and collecting, organizing, and maintaining paperwork for the family files, and program revenue contracts. Additionally, you will help other departments with filing as needed. The Office Assistant will need to be motivated, detail-oriented, and an excellent multi-tasker in a fast-paced environment.
Admissions and Financial Assistance
- Assist in collecting and processing parent documentation.
- Assist in the maintenance of the family and child files.
- Assist in processing and organizing admissions paperwork.
- Timely data entry into multiple systems related to, and required by EEC, BPS & Head Start, including applications, documentation and attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Data entry or database experience, preference for My Head Start, Quickbase, and CCFA experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Education/Head Start highly preferred.
