Job Description

Admissions Recruiter & Processing Specialist role provides advocacy and assistance to prospective students through leading and executing applicable processes and procedures in the area of application & prospect processing, prospect outreach, caseload management and events. The primary focus of the processing portion of this role is related to intake processing and data entry of new student applications while interfacing with both ISRS and the HTC CRM (Salesforce).

Specific duties include:

  • Coordinate and facilitate one on one meetings, tours and conduct on campus recruitment activities to include open houses, monthly information meetings, weekly tours and other on campus recruitment events to ensure that prospective students receive the information necessary to make HTC their college of choice. Interface with appropriate Enrollment Services technology systems to generate and maintain communication with prospective and current students.
  • Attend off campus recruitment activities/events such as, regional college fairs (NCF, NACAC, MACAC, MEF, MnACC), high school visits, career fairs, workforce centers, agency visits, trade events, and other recruitment activities to increase prospective students.
  • Ensure that all application processing activities are complete, accurate and processed in a timely manner while maintaining the highest possible level of data integrity within all applicable HTC systems for the entirety of the admissions department.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job):

  • Knowledge of English sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Skilled in customer service sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through e-mail and other written correspondence and to effectively communicate and elicit information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Skilled in typing/keyboarding sufficient to prepare a variety of documents accurately at 30 wpm with three errors or less.
  • Skilled in spreadsheets sufficient to effectively use spreadsheet software applications such as Microsoft Excel to create, enter, compile, store and retrieve data in a variety of reports and documents.
  • Skilled in word processing sufficient to use software, such as Microsoft Word, to create reports by combining and presenting data from multiple sources in an organized format.
  • Skilled in database management sufficient to develop and accurately enter information into a database and produce ad-hoc queries and reports for management’s use

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications (desired but not expected to have to enter job):

  • Two years of processing experience within higher education and/or a comparable work setting requiring complex problem solving, leadership (informal or formal), and a high level of information processing acumen.
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Working knowledge of ISRS and/or Salesforce, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience with providing customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of FERPA guidelines and AACRAO standards.
