Job Summary
Recreation & Parks Department is currently recruiting officials for our Adult Futsal (Indoor Soccer) League. Under the general supervision and guidance of the Adult Athletics Supervisor, Adult Futsal Officials will officiate and maintain control of league play by utilizing rules knowledge, proper mechanics, and consistent judgment. Officials will also work with other personnel to maintain a safe environment for participants and perform other miscellaneous duties.
Salary: $25.00 per game
Minimum age: 18 years old, at the time of application
Season: September 11, 2023, through November 19, 2023; Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
This is a continuous position and may close at any time
Examples of Duties
- Report to the assigned site to assist in organizing and setting up equipment to ensure games start on time.
- Check playing area for any safety hazards and addresses what hazards there might be; reports issues to the on-duty Site Manager immediately.
- Conduct the pregame meeting to handle introductions; highlight important rules, regulations or modifications; identify team managers/captains; make sure all players are in proper uniform and notify the team manager if any problems need to be addressed; answers any questions the teams may have.
- Officiate Adult Futsal games according to rules specific to the Greenville Recreation and Parks Department, applying consistent and reasonable judgment while remaining unbiased and will avoid verbal contact with spectators.
- Monitor and promote sportsmanship of participants, spectators and co-workers.
- Responsible for having thorough knowledge of U.S. Futsal rules, regulations and official’s mechanics as well as rules specific to the Greenville Recreation and Parks Department.
Regular part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees are not eligible for benefits.
