Advanced Facilities Technician

Job Summary

The R&D Advanced Facilities Technician provides support to R&D facility maintenance. Incumbent is able to develop and sustain strong working relationships with others. The successful candidate will provide assistance in maintaining building and site compliance while utilizing best practice techniques.

What You’ll Do:

Key Responsibilities

Facility Tasks:

  • Assist with performing preventative maintenance and repairs for building, labs and warehouse (Lighting, plumbing, air conditioning, roof repairs, build and move furniture, etc.)
  • Assist with 5s and Safety repairs and improvements as needed
  • Perform routine equipment and hand tool maintenance
  • Assist with warehouse maintenance and waste disposal
  • Supplies restocking and requisitioning

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Maintenance of equipment and tools (i.e., forklift, compressor, milter saws, table saw, etc.)
  • Assist in organizing supplies and tools
  • Supplies restocking and requisitioning

Provide project support as needed:

  • Support lab, project teams and facilities as needed
  • Assist on R&D facility projects as needed
  • Assist on product installation as needed
  • Material and product staging, preparation and storage
  • Material cutting, painting, and pallet stacking
  • Operate forklift

Safety:

  • Utilize PPE and proper equipment
  • Apply 5S philosophy in Facility, Warehouse, Labs and Office Area
  • Submit weekly safety engagements
  • Maintain forklift certification
  • Complete monthly OSHA mandated training
  • Ensure a safe work environment in labs through good housekeeping, proper personal protective equipment, equipment operations
  • Promote safety culture by participating in various safety initiatives

What You’ll Bring:

Desired Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial or residential facility maintenance or building construction
  • Must be proficient in the use of construction hand tools and possess general construction skills.
  • Forklift experience required – minimum 1 year

The expected compensation range for this position is between $25 – $27/hourly. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, market conditions, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position qualifies for benefits which may also include a sales incentive plan.
