Reporting to the Program Manager, the Advanced Planner is responsible for supporting the Navy Information Applications Product Suite (NIAPS) project. NIAPS is an intranet web-based system for non-tactical data in a networked navy shipboard environment such as ISNS, SUBLAN, TSCE, SWAN, and CANES. It uses GOTS software to integrate various applications and content into a common environment for shipboard deployment. This position is located in San Diego, CA.
What You’ll Do
- Provide NIAPS Fleet support and review ship schedules to determine availability for installations.
- Assist in the guidance of fielding and sustainment of current and future installations.
- Initiate and submit Ship Change Documents (SCDs) into the SCD Process via the Navy Data Environment (NDE). Monitor and ensure approval of all submitted SCDs to include creation of supporting documentation and forms.
- Initiate and submit shore modification documentation into the NAVWAR Fleet Readiness Certification Board (FRCB) process. Monitor and ensure approval of all submitted shore modifications to include creation of supporting documentation and forms.
- Coordinate installation fielding plans with NIWC Pacific NIAPS functional teams in engineering, information assurance, fleet support, and logistics.
- Interface with external stakeholders to obtain fielding plan approval as required. External stakeholders may include NAVSEA, PEO C4I PMW 160, PEO C4I Platform Managers, NAVWAR FRD, NAVIDFOR and TYCOMS.
- Creation of installation packages for fleet support personnel
- Creation of installation related Naval Messages
- Coordinate with system engineers, Fleet Support Manager and On-site Ship Installation Coordinators (OSICs) on a daily basis.
- Provide Installation materials to the Fleet Support Reps in support of upcoming installations.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this role.
- HS Diploma is required.
- At least three (3) years of directly related experience in planning, development and approval of installation fielding plans and Ship Change Documents (SCD).
- Skilled in utilizing the SPAWAR Integrated Data Enterprise Repository (SPIDER), Navy Data Environment, Dimensions, and Naval Tool for Interoperability and Risk Assessment (NTIRA).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is highly desired.
- Experience in all facets of Naval Shipboard Modernization.
- Experience working with shipboard IT staff.
- Familiar with shipboard IT technical data systems both shipboard as well as ashore site.
- Experience supporting the updates of publications; monitoring helpdesk email and providing support in a professional manner.
- Excellent technical writing, reporting, and communication skills.
- NIAPS experience.
- Ability to work with a small team of advanced planners.
- Ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Highly motivated, organized and detail oriented.
- Familiarity with Navy Modernization Process (NMP).
- Familiarity with NAVWARINST 4720.14 and Afloat Installation Process Handbook.
- Experience with Navy Data Environment (NDE) to include the NDE-Afloat Master Planning System (AMPS).
- Experience with NAVWAR SPIDER System.
- Familiarity with naval message formats.
INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $85,000 – $100,000. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
