The Advanced Purchasing Specialist position represents purchasing as a member of the cross functional platform team tasked with developing CNH Industrial’s next great products. This position is responsible for collaborating with suppliers and engineering to develop components from concept to production.
This position is eligible for a flexible hybrid work model and can be located in Burr Ridge/Oakbrook, IL, Racine Wi, Goodfield, IL, Benson, MN, or St. Nazianz, WI.
Responsibilities
- Manages all purchasing activity for multiple agricultural current product programs and platforms.
- Lead the early supplier involvement and fast implementation of changes with the Current Product Managers and Margin Improvement Teams with the aim to improve the Customer Experience and achieve main CPM KPIs like Failure Rate, Failure Cost and Time to Fix.
- Project manager for sourcing and tooling plans in conjunction with Central Purchasing to ensure product launch meets all program targets for quality, cost, and timing.
- Accountable for all direct material cost of the current product.
- Increases supplier value through R&D, co-design, and innovation.
- Has decision making authority on all CPM related sourcing decisions.
- Holds suppliers accountable to commitments and project deliverables independently and takes the appropriate steps to escalate when required.
- Manages negotiation and implementation of all technical modifications.
- Drives the identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities.
Annual base salary range for this position is $76,000 – $120,000 USD. (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing, project management or similar area preferably within a manufacturing environment. Experience should include the production or procurement of components and subsystems, managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously, knowledge of the Product Development cycle and Purchasing methodologies, SAP or other logistics systems, with the ability to influence through indirect authority.
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree will consider an Associate’s Degree with an additional 2 years’ experience (5 years total) specifically in procurement in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel up to 25% (mostly domestic).
