Job Description
The Adventure Park Operations Manager is a full-time, year-round salaried position and is responsible for the operation and management of Frisco Adventure Park’s physical operations. Winter operations include the oversight and management of the tubing hill and the ski and ride hill. Summer operations include the oversight and management of the bike park, skateboard park, and overall site and facility maintenance and repair. Provides management, mentoring, and training of year-round and seasonal operations staff. Responsible for all-terrain operations and equipment, including snowmaking, snowcat operations, and maintenance and repair. Provides oversight, training, and staffing as needed for the Nordic grooming operations.

Proposed Hiring Range*: $64,785.40 – $82,925.31
Full Salary Range: $64,785.40 – $101,065.22
*based on specific job experience and education

October 2023 – March 2024: Holidays, Evenings and Weekends Required.
April 2024 – September 2024: Flexible day schedule based on organization needs.
Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the tubing hill, ski & ride hill, bike park, skateboard park, staff and other areas of the Frisco Adventure Park.
  • Management of the snowmaking operation and grooming operations for tubing hill and Nordic center, lift operations, equipment fleet and maintenance.
  • Responsible for the overall risk management of the Adventure Park including medical training and/or certification, medical response protocols, logs, documentation, etc.
  • Management of bike park construction and maintenance, including minimizing risks, designing terrain features to meet the demands of the customers, achieving maximum flow between features, and implementing safety precautions.
  • Engages in hands-on labor, including but not limited to shoveling, plowing, digging, raking, screening & moving dirt, moving rocks, moving snow and planting.
  • Establishes, follows and enforces safety practices, operating rules and regulations at all times. Conducts various analyses and inspections of assigned facilities and equipment to ensure safety goals are met and practices followed.
  • Develops, implements and follows appropriate maintenance, repair or replacement schedules. Documents and files such checks on a regular basis.
  • Procures, maintains, and manages appropriate equipment and supplies needed for park operations. Tracks and follows budgetary guidelines appropriately
  • Responsible for training, motivating, and evaluating of assigned personnel. Works with employees to develop short and long term goals, monitors accomplishments and provides coaching for performance improvement.
  • Handles disciplinary matters and conducts periodic performance evaluations of assigned staff, subject to review and concurrence of General Manager.
  • Maintains effective relationships with management, employees, citizens and guests.
  • Assists General Manager in preparation of the annual Adventure Park’s operational budget.
  • Establishes high standards of customer service, cleanliness, maintenance and professional service to customers, and enforces the same through equally high standards of employee conduct and performance.
  • Operates heavy and light equipment, including but not limited to snowcats, snowmobiles, snowmaking equipment, machinery, etc. Works with light machinery, trucks, UTV, power tools and hand tools to carryout bike park construction and maintenance at the Frisco Adventure Park while following safety practices.
  • Works directly with the Nordic and Trails Manager on the hiring and training of Nordic maintenance operators for both summer and winter operations.
  • Responsible for the oversight, check logs, and maintenance schedules of snowcats, snowmobiles, toolcat, etc. Ensures equipment is working properly and communicates with PW Fleet staff as needed for routine and emergency repairs. Establishes and maintains relationships with equipment dealers and maintenance teams.
  • Works in a collaborative manner with the Nordic and Trails Manager, Public Works staff, and grooming team on early season snow preparation and movement, allocation of resources, and terrain specifics. Assists with the grooming of the Nordic trails as needed and as warranted.
  • Assists with the master planning of the Adventure Park including public processes, community input, stakeholder meetings, industry-specific research, etc.
  • Assists with Nordic event preparation for trails, signage, and additional resources as needed
  • Assists with other areas within the Recreation and Cultural Department in order to achieve Department goals, programs, events and objectives.
  • Work in a team-based environment supporting the Recreation and Cultural Department, the Town of Frisco, the initiatives of the Director and General Manager, and the Public Works Department.

  • Snowmaking, grooming and trail experience – preferred
