This hourly position includes several areas of responsibility. These include site set up, early season snowmaking, construction of tubing hill, daily operations, and safety. This position will work nights and other non-traditional hours in order to facilitate snowmaking, and opening of the Frisco Adventure Park site during the early season. Responsible for delivering tubing hill services to the guests. This includes delivering exceptional customer service by assisting guests with tube selection, loading and unloading lifts, and controlling lane entrance and egress. This position works with a partner at all times during snowmaking. This position must coordinate and communicate with guest service staff to ensure seamless safe and effective Adventure Park Operations.
Responsibilities
- Make snow with snow guns, high pressure water, pump and high voltage electricity.
- Maximize snow production capabilities through operational variables and shared goals with other departments.
- Check temperature and humidity multiple times throughout the shift. (Monitor weather to optimize snow production)
- Monitor tubing hill lanes for speed and safety precautions and take corrective actions as needed.
- Provide guidance and leadership during daily operations. Teach proper technique and procedure to tubing hill attendants.
- Provide basic preventative maintenance; check out, cleanliness and up-keep of all operations machinery.
- Completes snowmaking and water logs daily.
- Inspects Frisco Adventure Park for possible hazards and takes steps to rectify any hazards and communicate these in a timely manner to management.
- Works with snow making equipment and hand tools to carryout slope preparations at the Frisco Adventure Park.
- Utilizes on-slope communication equipment and processes to ensure appropriate terrain supervision, safety response, and customer service.
- Operates other Frisco Adventure Park technical equipment, such as the magic carpet and snow removal / moving equipment, and hand tools in order to carryout operations of the Frisco Adventure Park amenities.
- Follows industry safety practices in regards to use of technical equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, the magic carpet, snow guns, snowmobiles, snow blowers, and all other machinery.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all Adventure Park guests by giving appropriate information, directions and conducting all interactions with a smile, eye contact and clear communication.
- Monitor snow conditions and lane speed and adjust starting position or tubing clusters as necessary.
- Utilize established safety and risk management procedures to deliver customer friendly safety briefings, proper lift loading and unloading.
- Remain alert and vigilant to provide instructions to guests and spot possible problems requiring the immediate stoppage of the lift. Respond to incidents or emergencies as covered in training manual.
- Communicate as appropriate with other staff, supervisors and management about concerns or when assistance is needed in a timely manner.
- Handle repetitive questions, scenarios and tasks with professionalism, politeness and courtesy.
- Interact with and maintain professional attitudes and relationships with guests, co-workers and management in a positive, professional manner at all times using appropriate language and conversations.
- Work in a team-based environment supporting the Adventure Park, Recreation Department, the Town of Frisco, and the initiatives of the Director and Managers.
- Assist with equipment repair and maintenance.
- Assists in all other aspects of Frisco Adventure Park operations as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or other managerial staff.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED- preferred
Computer Operations: Microsoft Office- preferred
Licenses or Accreditations: Valid Colorado Driver’s License- required
Previous Work Experience- all preferred:
- 1 year snowcat operations
- 1 year snowmaking operations
- 1 year ski area operations
- 1 year of guest service
Language Ability: Able to communicate verbally and written in English- required

- The position requires the ability to travel over snow and ice in challenging weather conditions as well as working outdoors in extreme weather conditions for long periods of time up to 4 hours.
- Physical demands include walking up and downhill on snow and ice, lifting and carrying heavy objects, post-holing through snow, bending, shoveling, pulling or pushing heavy objects, raking, and standing for long periods of time.
- Required to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- This position also requires speaking with guests in a crowded and fast pace environment.
