This hourly position is responsible for day-to-day tubing hill and guest service operations based out of the Frisco Day Lodge.
Staff will spend approximately 80% of their work week outdoors delivering a positive guest experience to visitors. Tubing hill operations include assisting guests with safety video briefing, tube selection, loading and unloading the Magic Carpet, and assisting guests at the top and bottom of the hill. Additionally, attendants help control tubing lane entrances and exits, and assist ski & ride hill guests as needed.
The other percentage of the work week will be spent indoors, providing exceptional guest service through telephone, email, and in-person interactions. Staff will utilize recreation software to make tubing reservations, sell tickets/retail, and register guests for recreation programs/events. Attendants will also work in the Day Lodge café. Café responsibilities include food preparation, sales and cleanup. Attendants will be required to assist with special events, including birthdays weddings, and other Adventure Park activities.
Responsibilities
- Control tubing lane entrance by directing and assisting guest at the start of the lanes, controlling the number of people linking tubes (tubing clusters), and enforcing safety procedures. Monitor snow conditions and lane speed and adjust starting position or tubing clusters as necessary.
- Utilize established safety and risk management procedures to deliver guests, friendly safety briefings, proper lift loading and unloading. Enforce all Adventure Park safety practices, operating rules and regulations.
- Provide exceptional guest service to all Adventure Park Guests by giving appropriate information, directions and conducting all interactions with a smile, eye contact and clear communication.
- Handle repetitive questions, scenarios and tasks with professionalism, politeness and courtesy.
- Interact and maintain professional attitudes and relationships with guests, co-workers and management. Conduct one’s self in a positive, professional manner at all times using appropriate language and conversations.
- Remain alert and vigilant to provide instructions to guests and spot possible problems requiring the immediate stoppage of the lift. Respond to incidents or emergencies as covered in training manual.
- Assist with traffic flow and guest service through base area functions of ticket purchase, safety briefing, and tube selection and lift loading and unloading.
- Assist with traffic control at the run out by directing tubers to exit the lanes quickly and efficiently. Communicate with staff regarding lane speed in order to adjust starting position or size of clusters as necessary.
- Inspect all tubing equipment, lanes, and lift operations looking for any problems or safety issues that may need to be addressed. Follow established safety practices. Communicate as appropriate with other staff and supervisor about concerns or when assistance is needed
- Responsible for outdoor opening duties including included but not limited to terrain maintenance such as raking, shoveling, moving snow, lift and guest walkways, staging tubes, putting up all required signs and fencing, walking track packed areas for safety inspection, and maintain snow surface to provide safe lift load and unload areas.
- Responsible for outdoor closing duties including storage of tubes, taking down signs and fencing, trash removal and help with closing day lodge.
- Conduct daily, monthly, preseason, and other established equipment and terrain inspections.
- Completes logs as appropriate. Assist with equipment repair and maintenance.
- Utilizes on-slope communication equipment and processes to ensure appropriate terrain supervision, safety response, and customer service.
- Utilizes a variety of recreation software to assist guests. Makes reservations and conducts various sale transactions.
- Utilizes appropriate cash handling procedures.
- Might be on the phone up to 8 hours making reservations.
- Creates and redeems reservations for all Adventure Park and Recreation and Cultural programs.
- Responsible for food preparation and use of point of sales while attending the cafe following all safety practices as well as standard procedures of food service kitchen.
- Utilizes sales techniques to sell retail merchandise food and beverage.
- Produces neat, organized and accurate closing reports.
- Ensures the Day Lodge facility indoor and outdoor is clean, well-maintained, items are stocked and well display, and presentable to guests.
- Assists with opening and closing procedures including but not limited to counting till, locking and unlocking building, facility cleaning, trash removal, vacuuming, sweeping and opening and closing of kitchen.
- Follows all Town of Frisco and Recreation Department policies; this includes but is not limited to: maintaining grooming and uniform standards.
- Works in a team-based environment supporting the Adventure Park, Recreation Department, the Town of Frisco, and the initiatives of the Director and Managers.
- Assists in all other aspects of Frisco Adventure Park operations as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager/ Supervisor or other managerial staff
- Follow all Town of Frisco and Recreation Department policies; this includes but not limited to maintaining grooming and uniform standards.
