Advisor, Data Support (P3)

Summary

The Advisor, Data Support is responsible for implementing and maintaining data standards on Save the Children’s technology products. As the Lead for the Data Support Team, you will work closely with the Senior Director, Data Governance and Support to lead the daily operations of the Data Support team. This role will be a key member of the Data Management team to ensure that we are operating efficiently and adhering to our established data support model. As a lead, you will provide guidance to the Data Support Specialists on regular work activities, triage, and serve as the key operations liaison between the Senior Director, Data Governance and Support and the team.

You will work closely with Data Stewards and business colleagues with understanding data rules and principles and ensures the data on the systems reflects these principles, and will provide overall data support and liaison across multiple digital and data workstreams. You will participate in key initiatives supporting our transformational and business as usual work.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • Work both independently and/or in collaboration with colleagues from across the business and Business & Technology Solutions (BTS) with the implementation of data principles ensuring that data on the technology applications align with principles established. (25%)
  • Strategic lead to help design, implement and execute data quality controls and processes that align with data standards established. (25%)
    • Perform record maintenance on technology applications to correct inaccuracies.
    • Proactively report and provide KPIs on data standards.

  • Work collaboratively with the Data Stewards, IT, & Business SMEs with implementing new data standards and identifying data issues and gaps. (20%)
    • Works to identify where business process and controls need modifications and/or where technology can enhance and improve data and data management processes.
    • Provide comprehensive and detailed information to support these areas.

  • Responsible for documenting principles, processes, and other areas surrounding data practices. (15%)
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Director, oversee the implementation and management of the data support model, and day to day operations of Data Support both within SCUS and shared service data support team members, establishing guiding principles for transformation and BAU work. (15%)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience analyzing data, documenting issues, and compiling business information
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize work based on need, level of effort and resources
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading other’s work by partnership and collaboration

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 – NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $84,150 – $94,050 base salary
  • Geo 2 – Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $76,500 – $85,500 base salary
  • Geo 3 – Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $68,850 – $76,950 base salary

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location. Save the Children also offers paid vacation, accrued at least 12 days a year, depending on paygrade and length of service, paid safety and wellness leave of at least 1 day per month worked for a full time employee which is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full time schedule, and at least 10 paid holidays a year. Employees may be eligible for additional bonus compensation.
