An Aerospace Design Engineer job is currently available at Belcan working On-Site in Bellevue, WA. This is a 6 month contract position. Great matching candidates will have a Bachelor”s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline. This will entail consumption of preliminary 3D model data, evolution of the 3D model to incorporate all requirements including all subsystems, successful completion of design reviews, and creation of all associated detail, assembly and installation drawings on various VIP aircraft interior components such as, but not limited to, bulkheads, closets and other furniture primarily manufactured from composite panels with high-end decorative finishes, which may also include plumbing, wiring and other subsystems.
Aerospace Design Engineer job duties include:
• Create new or update existing 3D models & drawings following Customer standards to incorporate design solutions
• Accurately perform medium complexity numerical stack-up calculations and GD&T functions
• Assist with the release process for drawings and models
Qualifications:
• Develops solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems which require ingenuity and innovation
• Ability to understand and read high complexity drawings following Customer standards
• Open Communication – be able to share challenges/help needed.
• Be open to Feedback – Positive and constructive.
• Helps solve problems that would affect cost, schedule, and performance
• Works according to established guidelines.
• Ensures application of best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools
• Is proficient within a specific functional capacity
• Effective oral and written collaborative engineering environment communication skills
• Ability to effectively present oral and written engineering requirements and results
• Requires educational credentials meeting the classification standards for engineers and typically a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering classification.
• Legal authorization to work in the US required
Skills and Specifications:
• Proficient in Inventor: 3D Modeling Assemblies and installations into A/C coordinates, specializing in Monuments, headliners, sidewalls, OEM modifications, flooring, placards, etc.
• Proficient in the use of IVT/Navisworks to review integrated models.
• Background in aircraft interior completions
• Knowledge of materials such as aluminum, composites, sheet metal.
• Extensive understanding of aircraft interior design, manufacturing processes and materials
• Knowledge and application of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) preferred
Software skills:
• Strong knowledge and experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 (PLM) & Inventor (CAD)
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering from a four-year accredited College or University.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
• Must be available to begin work immediately on-site.
• Must have experience with Inventor
Desired but not required Software skills:
• Boeing IVT digital mockup experience
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $40-58/hour however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
