The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is now accepting applications for Afterschool Program Leaders and Program Drivers. The THRIVE program serves students from the Beaverton School District in after school and before school programs.

The mission at THRIVE is:

  • to inspire creativity, imagination, and life-long learning;
  • to provide an opportunity for kids to have fun, learn and express themselves through a variety of activities while maintaining a safe environment.

Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District believes that children benefit from friendly and supportive interactions with other children and instructors. The afterschool program strives to provide a fun and educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop talents and recognize their importance both individually and within their community.
THPRD will be offering the THRIVE After School program at the following facilities:

  • Tualatin Hills Athletic Center
  • Cedar Hills Recreation Center
  • Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center
  • Garden Home Recreation Center (and Chehalem Elementary)

All positions are flexibly staffed, Monday – Friday, between 2:00pm – 6:00pm on school days and 7:30am – 6:00pm on no school days, starting August 28th 2023 to June 11th 2024. Part-time employees are scheduled variable hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year.

Program Leader and Program Driverresponsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in coordinating, instructing, supervising and leading learning and enrichment activities for assigned program area.
  • Providing a program/class atmosphere that promotes and encourages inclusion and satisfaction of all participants.
  • Ensure the safety of program participants and if necessary, provide basic first aid.
