We are GDIT. The people supporting and securing some of the most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects across the country. We ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work has meaning and impact on the world around us, but also on us, and that’s important. GDIT is your place. You make it your own by embracing autonomy, seizing opportunity, and being trusted to deliver your best every day.

We think. We act. We deliver. There is no challenge we can’t turn into opportunity. And our work depends on an Agile/Lean Process Coach joining our team to support a large Federal Agency. The customer has a strong appetite for innovation and automation.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Agile/Lean Process Coach supporting CMS, you’ll be a meaningful part of improving how GDIT supports federal agencies in achieving their mission and will be trusted to Lead and Innovate. The Agile Coach embraces Lean-Agile leadership and serves as coach and facilitator supporting Development and Operation Teams.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Ensure that delivery teams are adopting agile and performing effectively.
  • Establish the right processes for managing a portfolio of work in an agile fashion.
  • Drive strategic change across the organization and ensure that adoption of agile techniques is embedded from the most senior levels of the organization.
  • Ensure that organizations adopt a pragmatic approach to govern delivery and continuous improvement of digital services.
  • Embed an agile culture using techniques from a wide range or agile and lean methodologies and frameworks but be methodology agnostic.
  • Create an open and trust-based environment, which enables a focus on delivery and facilitates continuous improvement.
  • Assess team culture and delivery processes to identify and facilitate improvements.
  • Showcase relevant tools and techniques such as coaching, advising, workshops, and mentoring.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to promote agile.
  • Develop clear lines of escalation, in agreement with senior managers.
  • Ensure any stakeholder can easily find out an accurate and current project or program status, without disruption to delivery.
  • Work effectively with other suppliers and agencies.
  • Identify and apply best tools and techniques to team roles, behaviors, structure and culture, agile ceremonies and practices, knowledge transfer and sharing, program management, cross-team coordination, and overall governance of digital service delivery.
  • Ensure key metrics and requirements that support the team and delivery are well defined and maintained.
  • Equip staff with the ability to coach others.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Five (5) years of experience transforming initiatives to deliver lasting change within agencies that focus on delivering value for citizens.
  • Must have the following three certifications: Scrum Master (e.g., PSM, CSM or SAFe Scrum Master or equivalent), Agile Coach (e.g., Certified Lean Agile Coach, Disciplined Agile Coach (DAC) or equivalent), and Lean.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing development and operations work using Agile frameworks.
  • Experience overseeing multi-function development teams with at least 5 team members including Developers, Business Analysts, and Testers.
  • Balanced business/technical background.

Location: DC metro area preferred but remote applicants considered. Team members living in the DC metro need to travel to client sites in the DC metro area on an ad hoc basis. Remote team members will travel about 1 week per month.

Citizen: Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to development teams and to be able to evaluate complex project risks and issues accurately and objectively.
  • Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft productivity tools.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous Federal Contracting experience.
  • Agile Certifications: CSPO; PSPO; CSP; CTC; CEC; SPC; PMI-ACP.
