Agile Coach/Release Train Engineer

Across our organization, we have recognized the need for a transformational shift from traditional waterfall methodologies to agile practices. As such, we are currently looking to hire Agile Coaches across various technology groups to guide and support our organization through this transition. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our company and help foster a culture of collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement. These roles will be based out of our New York, NY, Pittsburgh, PA, and Lake Mary, FL offices (hybrid).
You will have an impact in following ways:
- Coach leaders, teams and Scrum Masters in SAFe, agile mindsets and new processes.
- Manage and optimize the flow through the program
- Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
- Facilitate the PI planning event. Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency
- Escalate and track impediments
- Help manage risks and dependencies and report status
- Drive continuous improvement and continuous integration.
- Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
- Facilitate System Demos Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices
Qualifications:
- Experience in a Chief Scrum Master/Release Train Engineer role for large initiatives, programs or Agile Release Trains.
- Strong knowledge of Lean-Agile principles, practices, frameworks, and methods
- Understands company organizational model, company structure, and Agile journey history
- Effective facilitation and teaching methods
- Coaching and mentoring approaches, including the distinction between the two
- Ability to drive decisions and resolve conflicts across multiple parties
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience successfully running agile projects of varying size and complexity
- Preferred to have Agile certifications including SAFe RTE, SPC, CSM.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,000 and $220,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
