Job Description & Requirements
The Electrician is responsible for all aspects of installation, preventive maintenance, routine maintenance, inspection and/or repair of the electrical systems in facilities owned and operated by Universal Studios Hollywood and throughout the park and other duties assigned within the Electrical department. This includes but is not limited to: operational aspects such as daily inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance issues relating to the above criteria and maintaining all facility electrical systems in accordance to all applicable codes, standards, and NEC specifications, including electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment from 12V to 12kV.
Responsibilities:
- Installing, maintaining, servicing, rebuilding, troubleshooting, repairing, and operating all industrial, commercial, and non-commercial electrical equipment throughout park and related properties. This will include all main switchgear, main breakers, UPS’s, generators, transfer switches, conductors, motors and control centers.
- Installation of new circuits, equipment and supporting work; electrical wiring and controls and test for proper operation. Update electrical as-built drawings.
- Responsible for testing, servicing and maintaining show control systems, building management lighting controllers including mechanical, electrical, IP based networks and associated instrumentation. Must be able to operate and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interface devices based on established designs.
- Equipment cleaning, care, and maintenance. Other duties performed as assigned.
- Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures within Technical Services and USH at large. Understands and demonstrates the proper use of basic safety practices and ensures department standards are maintained and safety policies for the Park upheld.
- Promotes and provides extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests; answer questions, offer information, and provide assistance in a courteous manner.
- Keep abreast of the advances in technologies and techniques in the Theme Park Industry; seeks to continuously improve both technical and functional skill sets.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years older
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- Possess a Certified General Electrician Card by the State of California
- Familiarity with industry standard communication protocols, DMX, BacNet, LonWorks, Modbus, Etc.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and management, and willingness to give assistance to co-workers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure; proactive thinker/self-starter.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
The pay rate for this role is $33.
