Job Summary

The Customer Base Analyst role will be a key enabler of Customer Experience strategy by providing valuable insight into distressed customer identification and management, customer growth & behavior, new and existing product and service initiatives, customer care & retention strategy & operations, customer churn, and pricing & revenue growth. This role will transform complex data sets into key statistics, trends, etc. that will drive actionable insights for senior management and requires cross functional collaboration with key business units including Business Intelligence, Marketing, Product, Business Planning, and Billing Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing data science techniques to identify operational requirements and opportunities for improvement within the organization.
  • Gathering and processing relevant information through data analysis, which may involve examining workflows, studying company reports, conducting interviews with business, and extracting insights from data sources.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize processes and procedures using data-driven insights to enhance overall operations.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of newly implemented processes and procedures by tracking relevant performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Establishing and maintaining quality standards in data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure the accuracy and reliability of insights.
  • Developing data-driven techniques and strategies for problem resolution and process enhancement, using data analysis as the foundation.
  • Staying up to date with the latest data science tools and techniques by attending workshops, reviewing publications, participating in professional societies, and benchmarking best practices in the field.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, which are commonly used for data analysis and visualization. Familiarity with data manipulation libraries and tools, like Pandas, NumPy, and data visualization libraries like Matplotlib or Seaborn. Experience with SQL for querying and managing relational databases.
  • Statistical Knowledge: Understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and probability theory.
  • Data Wrangling & Visualization: Ability to clean and preprocess data, handling missing values, outliers, and data inconsistencies. Proficiency in data transformation techniques to prepare data for analysis. Understanding of data storytelling to effectively communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Tools and Software: Proficiency in using data analysis and visualization software such as Jupyter Notebooks, Excel, or equivalent tools. Knowledge of data storage technologies, such as relational databases and NoSQL databases, and how to access and extract data from them.
  • Communication Skills & Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to convey complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Analysts should be able to identify business problems, formulate data-driven hypotheses, and develop solutions based on data analysis. The field of data science is constantly evolving, so a commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated with the latest tools and techniques is important.

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $59,758.00 – $95,613.00 /year. The rate/Range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
