Description

The Jed Foundation is a nonprofit organization that protects the emotional health and prevents suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults. The Design and Impact team, which is responsible for co-designing programs and campaigns is looking for an Analyst.

The Design and Impact team (Deslmp) conducts both research and program evaluation. Additionally, DesImp is responsible for ensuring teams and leaders of actionable, relevant and timely data for decision-making.

In this position, you will serve as the Analyst to support day to day research evaluation needs across the Design and Impact team. You will play a key role in supporting projects across the team to support JED’s broader team needs such as Academic Programming, Communications/Youth Engagement and Strategy, Development, Grants, Learning and Knowledge, and Technology teams. We are looking for someone with strong written and verbal communication skills who can work autonomously. In this role you will use your knowledge and background in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, support IRB protocol and development as well as assist with grant and manuscript development. We are looking for someone that has supported human subject research initiatives in the past, with experience with instrument design, project management, strong written and verbal communication skills and experience with tools such as Qualtrics, R and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative and project management support to the Design & Impact (DesImp) team across other assigned projects, including facilitation of the following tasks:
    • Building out assigned tasks and affiliated project responsibilities into a project management platform (e.g. Asana) to ensure task completion and follow-thru
    • Support logistics related to survey instrument development, distribution, and reporting in support of various service related, grant related, and tech related projects support by the DesImp team, as needed
    • Use technology platforms to contribute to and support implementation of key tasks/activities led by the DesImp team and behalf of other JED Depts
    • Coordinate communication on behalf of DesImp across other JED Depts/teams to organize work to support implementation of key tasks/activities led by the DesImp team
    • Provide support to research projects managed by the DesImp team, including IRB support to sponsored research
    • Completing duties/tasks as assigned by the Sr. Director, DesImp, as assigned
    • Attend team and organizational meetings are needed
    • Note taking/summarizing in team and organizational meetings as needed
  • Support Design & Impact (DesImp) team engagement with JED colleagues/teams needs, including:
    • Utilize qualitative and quantitative data to communicate key trends with stakeholders, providing data-driven recommendations to inform strategic programmatic growth and improve data equity and equitable implementation
    • Support data analysis and visualization efforts lead by DesImp for other JED Depts using SPSS, Power BI, Qualtrics and Excel
    • Support evaluation of data collection facilitated by DesImp for other JED Depts designed to aid internal efforts for process improvement and to better understand impact
    • Support to partnerships team to scope out various partner groups and assist with background research as needed
    • Assist with aggregation of survey data for yearly reports
    • Develop surveys and other data collection prompts to deploy with our various audiences to determine how they are using our web based resources
    • Participation in as needed meetings with external affairs team members to gather R&E needs in order to prioritize this work
    • Assist in data and stat requests for various communications, media, and advocacy requests
      • Create, manage, and deploy stat requests from external JED teams to Design & Impact team to ensure efficient and suitable responses/support

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree required (psychology, sociology or similar degree preferred)
  • Master’s Degree or 2-3 years of relevant work experience in human subject research
  • Experience with research project management
  • Experience with IRB protocol writing and revisions
  • Experience with grant and manuscript writing
  • Experience or interest in adolescent mental health and suicide prevention
  • Experience working in non-profit and/or public health settings
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, organize time effectively, and respond to changing deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a team setting and self-driven/independent motivation
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with many moving parts
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a professional manner
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Strong preference for someone with experience working with MS Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel. Teams, Powerpoint, etc.), Google, Asana, Qualtrics, R and Power BI

Pay Ranges / Location / Travel Information

Pay Ranges:
The range listed on this job posting is based on JED’s compensation posting ranges. Salaries may be higher or lower depending on experience and geographic location.

Location/Travel Information:
Please note that this position is largely remote but will require retreat/business meetings at JED’s central office in NYC or other locations as designated by JED leadership. Additional travel may be required.
