JOB TITLE: One (1) Assistant Analyst

SUMMARY:
The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government’s chief financial agency. OMB’s staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies.
The Personnel Planning Unit is responsible for citywide headcount data.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The duties of this position encompass the following activities:
• Analyzing and preparing monthly citywide headcount statistics.
• Gathering hires and separation data monthly.
• Calculating citywide attrition and vacancy rates.
• Gathering and analyzing financial plan headcount data.
• Reviewing and compiling personnel actions.
Minimum Qual Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, process and project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
• Very strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed
Additional Information
REQUIREMENTS:
Assistant Analyst ($51,550): Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Public Policy Analysis/Administration, or a subject related to the specific assignment with no or one year of full-time experience in budgetary planning/management, financial analysis, public policy analysis/administration or a related field.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
