The Annual Giving Manager plays a vital role in advancing our mission to strengthen families and empower individuals facing challenging circumstances by contributing to a robust culture of philanthropy. The primary responsibility of this position is to build, implement, and sustain a diverse and robust fundraising plan to support the organization’s annual operating budget and ensure budget goals are met or exceeded. This position is responsible for supporting budget development, planning, and implementing strategies and practices that identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward existing and prospective donors.

What to expect on a given day as an Annual Giving Manager:

  • You will develop and execute a donor engagement plan to cultivate, steward, and acknowledge existing and new donors.
  • You will build relationships with key donors, board members and stakeholders to support the mission and work of FamilyForward.
  • You will manage the creation and successful implementation of a comprehensive annual fundraising plan and budget.
  • You will work in partnership with the Communications Manager to develop a coordinated Communications Plan to ensure relational fundraising initiatives.
  • You will maintain an individual portfolio of approximately 100-150 annual donors.
  • You will identify new funding opportunities that contribute to a diverse and comprehensive fundraising plan.
  • You will lead and be accountable for fundraising initiatives including online campaigns, direct mail, appeals, and corporate giving, while overseeing fundraising events and third-party fundraising.
  • You will support the Chief Development Officer and Director of Philanthropy in growing the major gift program.
  • You will stay informed of current fundraising trends, adhere to best practices, and ensure proper fundraising policies and procedures are implemented and followed.

You would be a good fit for this position if you:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years’ experience in fundraising (experience with annual budget of $1 million+ preferred)
  • Have excellent interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Can lead, persuade, and assure key stakeholders that our mission is being met and dollars are being used effectively.
  • Can exercise discretion, sound judgement, and flexibility, particularly in response to donor feedback.
  • Are a creative thinker and solutions finder, helping solve logistical problems.
  • Can celebrate success and are committed to continuous process improvement.
  • Have experience with database software and/or customer relationship management (CRM) preferred; experience with Raisers Edge is a plus.
  • Are able to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office and have experience with project management processes and software.
  • Can work some evenings and weekends for special events, as discussed and planned.

Salary Expectations:
Dependent on experience, salary range is approximately $65,000 70,000.
