Position: Anti Human Trafficking Prevention Education Specialist
Department: Philadelphia Social Services Ministry
Availability of Position: Immediate
Schedule: Full time; Mon-Fri 9a-5p with some evening hours
Reporting Relationship: Director of Anti Trafficking
Salary/Grade: $50,000 per year, 10 Exempt.
Continuation of this position is dependent upon the renewal of the grant or continued funding.

About the New Day to Stop Trafficking: New Day is an anti-trafficking program offering case management, housing diversion, drop in, hotline, and training services.
Responsibilities
Description of Position:
The Prevention Education Specialist will develop and coordinate trainings for New Day’s Partners including the Department of Human Services and Law Enforcement. The Prevention Education Specialist will provide technical assistance and support to the DHS Childcare Room and hotline staff. The Prevention Education Specialist will facilitate groups and provide crisis response to DHS youth who are suspected victims of trafficking. In addition, they will perform awareness, and training on the issue of human trafficking and trauma. This is a grant funded position and relies upon the continuation of funding.
Qualifications
Requirements
- MSW degree or BSW with minimum two years’ experience working in human trafficking or a related field (e.g., domestic violence, immigrant rights, workers’ rights) in a role that involves service provision, training, and/or advocacy.
- Strong public speaking skills and proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint. Experience with trauma informed care preferably a working knowledge of Sanctuary Model for Trauma informed services.
- Must understand the issue of Domestic and Foreign Human Trafficking and prostitution.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel from site to site as may be needed in the performance of duties.
- Professional-level communications skills verbal and written. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
