Our work depends on Training Specialist joining our team to Develops; organizes; and conducts training and educational programs for Fleet sailors in support of Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) Detachment Southwest (DET SW), in San Diego, CA. Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support tactical classroom training. Candidate would serve as an Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) Instructor to train fleet ASTAC’s in tactical employment of the Anti-Submarine Warfare/Anti-Surface Unit Warfare (ASW/ASUW) Air Assets to include the SH-60R and P-8 Poseidon Multi-Mission Aircraft (MMA), Air frames. Provide enlisted and officer tactical watch-standers and planners with the requisite knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of Link capable units, data links Link-11, Link-16, Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) networks, and Global Command and Control System (GCCS). When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC courses supporting the operational employment of the ASW/ASUW assets available to the fleet and the skills necessary to plan, implement and monitor a single or multi-link architectures and peripheral systems in a Carrier Strike Group, Amphibious Ready Group, and Carrier Strike Force, Naval exercise or operation.

-Provides dynamic teaching & training as well as assessment that require advanced knowledge of ASW/ASUW air control tactics and procedures for all Aegis baselines.

-Reviews and analyzes ASW/ASUW air tactics and procedures IAW U.S. Navy Operational and Tactical procedures. Integrates and conceptualizes the execution of operational and tactical procedures, optimizing the application of ship’s Air Control capabilities and limitation in the dynamic ASW/ASUW operational tactical environment.

-Ability to understand the impact of the designed architecture on the Common Tactical Picture (CTP) and Common Operational Picture (COP).

-Able to train sailors in the fundamental skills to write/utilize Link-planning documents including an OPTASK Link, JNL request, Link 16 authorization request, satellite access request message and Link 16 network description documents.

-Ability to supervise the initialization, monitoring, troubleshooting of Link-11 and Link-16 systems, and the utilization of collaborative planning tools.

-Possess skills needed to maintain a tactical picture, monitor link operations, change system configurations, and maintain voice communications in accordance with the Joint Multi-Tactical Digital Information Link Operating Procedures (JMTOP) and other applicable references.

-Prepares; reviews; and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching.

-Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis provides formal feedback and recommendation for Course improvement.

-Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report.

-Develops; tests; maintains; and delivers moderately complex ASW/ASUW training scenarios, training programs and related materials in support of SCSTC training objectives.

-Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.

-Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.

-Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.

-Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Five (3) years of experience all facets of managing the TDL network architecture and experience with the required system (ASW/ASUW) Air Assets as an Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) or supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable systems or function task to others in an advanced level training environment. Of the three (3) years, Of the three years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems including one (1) year relevant experience interfacing with training systems/simulations for effective and correct presentation of learning objectives, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.

The likely salary range for this position is $60,000 – $90,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
