Application Development Manager, Enterprise Systems -Project Kuiper SPACE PROGRAM

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The individual will also be responsible for planning, installation, configuration, maintenance and production monitoring of all SAP instances and associated software tools. The individual will also help and consultation to other infrastructure and application staff and work within cross-functional teams. Key job responsibilities
• Manage all ERP (SAP) and SCM (E2Open) applications including maintenance, new development and associated 3rd party applications.
• Provide technical inputs into future roadmap and applications discussions.
• Lead and implement ERP (SAP) and SCM (E2Open) best practices, procedures, and policies for ERP related activities.
• Manage team workload, priorities, and provide SAP technical architecture guidance to internal and external teams.
• Drive successful implementation of changes, upgrades, and enhancements complying to business requirements.
• Design Kuiper’s Enterprise Systems technical architecture and environment landscape approach
• Plan and manage environment landscape delivery and operations
• Size the SAP/3rd party software required to meet current and future operational needs
• Own installation and configuration of ERP / SCM software
• Define and manage SAP transports across the environment landscape
• Define and implement ongoing patch management, backup/restore, and monitoring of SAP software
• Work closely with infrastructure team to design and implement HA and DR solutions
• Provide issue resolution for SAP Basis and ABAP code defects
• Collaborate with Infrastructure Security to ensure software aligns to enterprise standards and policies
• Conduct ERP / SCM software performance monitoring and tuning
• Mentor and coach junior developer resources and work closely with internal and external teams, and business users
• Interface with developers and configurators for performance and data access requirements
• Develop standards and procedures for the ERP / SCM database environment
• Consult with infrastructure teams on database requirements and configuration best practice
• Stay current with new ERP / SAPtechnology developments and techniques, research new software and tools, proactively recommend improvements
• Evaluation and utilization of software products to assist in the management of ERP / SCM software

We’re looking for an outstanding ‘Sr. Systems Development Manager – Production Systems’, whose objective and responsibility will be to develop and maintain high quality, and reusable ERP, SCM, and PLM solutions that result in a low total cost of ownership. The individual will be responsible to lead software developers, ABAP engineers, and work closely with solution architects, business stakeholders and external partners to develop ERP/PLM solutions to meet Kuiper business needs. The individual will supervise installation and maintenance of Project Kuiper’s Enterprise software (SAP ERP – S/4HANA & MES, Team Center PLM, E2Open SCM) on AWS-Cloud at an optimal performance, availability and efficiency.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience

– 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers, and system integrator teams

– 5+ years of SAP / ERP systems ABAP development experience, preferably with SAP S/4 HANA and SAP ME

– 3+ years experience with cloud infrastructure best practices related to ideally AWS Infrastructure

– 2+ years experience with SAP S/4 HANA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years experience working with SAP BW/4HANA
• 2+ years experience with SAP HA/DR best practices
• 2+ years experience with SAP backup and recovery solutions
• 2+ years experience with SAP configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning
• Masters or advanced degree in engineering or systems
• Experience in data centers, an infrastructure service provider or similar technology company.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills
• Good working knowledge of SAP HANA and Linux
• Excellent interpersonal, written and team collaboration skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
