SPECIAL NOTES:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field is required OR a combination of college coursework and experience as described above may also be interchanged. Professional work experience can quality on a year-by-year basis in place of the required education. College coursework will be considered the equivalent of experience at the rate of thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter hours on a year for year basis.
Additional requirements:
- 3 or more years of .NET development experience using C# and ASP.NET
- Experience with object-oriented programming fundamentals
- Experience with relational databases to include either Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
- Understanding of scripting languages
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Proficient in the English language
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Competency in client-side web development technology languages
Preferences:
- Ability to work in an agile environment within small teams
- Experience with responsive design frameworks
The salary range for this position is $70,000.00 -$80,000.00 annually.
This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Three (3) or more years of software development experience

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Serve as an analyst/developer in the development and maintenance of large-scale information systems (design, review, testing, documentation, programming, and installation).
- Software will be written using the approved development tools and languages in a manner consistent with the style of existing programs.
- All software will be tested thoroughly to ensure all new functions work as designed, and all existing functions continue to work appropriately.
- All changes will be documented within the software itself (where possible), and in external documentation to ensure all enhancements can be made in the future.
- Proper implementation procedures will be followed 100% of the time. All projects will be completed within the time frame agreed to jointly by the member, the requester, and the member’s supervisor.
Work with customer representatives and DFS staff to identify reporting requirements and capabilities. Analyzes data requirements and utilize approved techniques for matching and entering data supplied by customers.
- Assist the customer in identifying the correct data elements required to fulfill their requests. Identify and recommend data collection and dissemination techniques that adhere to the adopted standards.
- Work closely with the customer to learn their needs, and accurately translate them to text or diagrams, as appropriate. Assist other members in performing these tasks.
Create and maintain documentation for programming staff, operations staff, and end customers regarding the data bases and related applications and systems.
- During development of new applications and systems, all documentation will be completed prior to implementation of the application into the production environment.
- During maintenance of existing applications and systems, all documentation will be updated prior to implementation of the application into the production environment.
