Applications Scientist – Core Discovery Proteomics

Position Summary:

As a Proteomics Specialist in the Life Science OMICS Research Team, you will be the technical and applications subject matter authority for core discovery proteomics. You will support the Sr. Manager and commercial sales team to grow the market by developing mass-spec based workflows that enable our customers to accelerate their science!

Key Responsibilities: (Bullets)

  • Provide all needed scientific support and education for the discovery research portfolio of products for sales, applications and marketing, communicate how Thermo Fisher solutions address customer needs
  • Complete go-to-market plan (marketing data/content, sales enablement content) for launch
  • Partner with regional marketing and sales to plan and support customer engagement activities such as seminars, user meetings and sales visits
  • Provide scientific support for collaborators and strategic accounts
  • Active in the scientific community be delivering publications, presenting at events, and participating in discussions/roundtables
  • Design and implement experiments for strategic, high impact applications/workflows as proof of concept in alignment with the Sr Program Manager, including but not limited to quantitative and qualitative workflows such as label-free and TMT quantitation, PTM analysis and single cell proteomics
  • Identify, engage, and collaborate with key opinion leaders

Requirements for the role

  • Ph.D degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional work experience, with at least 2 years directly in proteomics research
  • Upbeat, goal-oriented self-starter with a strong executive presence, collaborative demeanor, and ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Proven understanding of research, development, and commercialization processes with the ability to collaborate with strategy, product management and R&D leadership.
  • Superb oral, written communication, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to present scientific and business information to peers and executives
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Up to 30% travel

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $113,000.00-$155,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
