Job Duties:
- The Adult Protective Services Case Manager performs specialized case management in the area of Adult Protective Services (APS), Division of Adult Advocacy, in Allendale County. Case management includes but is not limited to conducting investigations, conducting assessments and coordinating protective and preventive services for vulnerable adults. Will assist other counties with APS case management as needed.
- Ensures uniform interpretation, application and implementation of policies, rules and regulations by staff in the area of APS investigations and protective services, Maintain standards of practice as outlined by the Adult Protective Services Human Services Policy and Procedure Manual and the Omnibus Adult Protection Act.
- Provide daily supervision to APS staff across county lines in investigation and/or protective services program areas. Completes administrative and personnel duties to include but not limited to EPMS to staff by deadlines, staffing cases with APS case managers by time lines set by APS policy, ensuring that all accepted intake reports are attached to active investigations and all APS investigations and protective services cases are processed in a timely manner.
- Review documentation in CAPSS system to ensure case managers tasks are completed timely and accurately.
- Identify, prioritize, and coordinate training attendance for APS staff on the county level. Plans and implements the knowledge and skills development of APS staff through conferences and critical staffing
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of various reports and other information including court summaries and other court related to paperwork.
- Creates and participates in county level multi-agency inter-disciplinary Adult Protective Services Coordination Teams.
- Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty or services as directed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Agency Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
A Bachelor’s Degree in any other field and one (1) year experience in a related field.
