Duties
Provides leadership, direction, management and analysis of all aspects of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) Aquatics Programs with direction from the Chief, Sports Fitness & Aquatics. Actions include but are not limited to: MWR Baseline Standards; Standardized Job Descriptions; Policy Development and Guidance; Contracts, Annual Aquatics Training; Study and analysis of staffing, equipment, training, programs, and hours of operation, etc; Annual Report, Equipment Procurement, Army Natatorium Design Standards, and Installation Status Reports.
Plans and coordinates details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, sports, instructional and training. Plans and establishes aquatic certification curriculum to include life guarding, lifeguard instructor, water safety instructor, water fitness instructor, emergency lifeguard training and other safety, fitness and sports certification and educational programming.
Coordinates with the FMWR marketing department to publicize aquatic events, new policy, training and required certifications, and continuously evaluates the effectiveness of the Army aquatic programs. Develops program objectives from the Baseline standards. Adapts and varies the aquatic program in light of findings. Responsible for NAF budget for the assigned program area. Review budget execution reports with the Chief, Sports Fitness & Aquatics to ensure desired execution rate is met. Prepares annual, quarterly and monthly budget input including UFR updates and request for special funding.
Develops and update of the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies. Assists the Chief, Sports Fitness & Aquatics with data collection for the DOD and DA MWR standard reports. Assures adherence to the policies established in AR 215-1, AR 215-3; TB-MED 575 and AR-385-10. Arranges equipment, supplies and services needed to accomplish assigned functions.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position.
Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, administering and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor recreational or competitive aquatic programs and facilities. Experience with fitness and sports programming. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level.
Possession of the following certificates is a requirement:
Current certification in Lifeguard Instructor
Current First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent
Current Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Pool Operator certification
Current Certification in Water Safety Instructor

Possess budget execution experience to include obligations, commitments, and disbursements.
