Role: AR/Collections Coordinator

NJ media company is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable/Collections Coordinator to join our finance team. You will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the accounts receivable department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Daily review and monitoring of aging reports to identify invoices that are approaching average collection periods while managing 200-400 accounts
- Contact customers verbally and via email according to collection policies
- Resolve unpaid balances, advising customer of necessary action steps and useful strategies for repayment, or work with internal teams to correct invoices
- Apply invoices, payments and customer credits accurately
- Review the terms of sales, service and/or credit contracts with customers as well as investigate historical data for each account
- Expedites the resolution of unpaid customer accounts to maximize impact on cash and reduce receivables balances
- Update account status records and collection efforts in our ERP system
- Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status and recommend escalation options as needed
- Support cross-functional projects and teams
Requirements:
• 3-5 years’ proven experience as a collection specialist or similar role
• Knowledge of billing procedures, cash application, and collection techniques
• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent work experience
• Media/Travel Industry experience is a strong plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
• Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency, patience, and persistence
• Ability to multitask and shift priorities as necessary
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• NetSuite or ERP experience a strong plus
• Bilingual is a plus
