Art Department A/V Assistant (FWS)

Summary/Objective

Student assistants will oversee the circulation of audio/visual equipment to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in Studio Art and Graphic Design classes. Job responsibilities will include performing check-out and check-in of equipment using AU Library circulation system, survey of equipment for damage or loss, receipt of new equipment, management of the equipment room, and end-of-semester inventory.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Federal Work-Study Position (FWS).
  • Students can expect to work between 2 and 6 hours per week depending on availability and need.

Salary Range

  • $17.00/hour.

Required Education and Experience

  • A High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Students must be reliable, organized, clear communicators, and possess a familiarity with A/V equipment.
  • An attention to detail is essential.

Preferred Requirements

  • Library and/or customer service experience is helpful but not necessary.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • This position is only open to students with an active and available Federal Work-Study Award.
  • Position starts at the beginning of the Fall 2023 concluding in May 2024.
  • Hours for this position will be regular, and reliability is critical. Students can expect to work between 2 and 6 hours per week depending on availability and need.
