INDUS provides industrial support services across the Undersea Weapons Department (Code 30), Test and Evaluation Department (Code 20), Undersea Systems & Sustainment Department (Code 40) and Unmanned and Theater Undersea Warfare Systems Department (Code 50), of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport (NUWCDIVKPT). Requirements include providing technical support services associated with various industrial operations, depot repair activities, and torpedo intermediate maintenance functions.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Deputy Program Manager will lead a diverse team of logisticians, engineering technicians, electronic maintenance technicians, etc. supporting undersea warfare industrial support services tasking on the NUWCDIVKPT Industrial Support Services (ISS) contract. This position is located in Keyport, WA.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the Program Manager of the Industrial Support Services Program when the PM is not available due to leave and/or when the PM assigns for expediency of contract execution, e.g., when PM is in an all-day meeting and overtime needs to be authorized in a timely fashion.
  • Provide critical backup and assistance to the PM in execution of the ISS contract.
  • Ensure that that Industrial Support Services (ISS) tasking operates at peak efficiency – with customer satisfaction as the primary goal – by supervising, organizing, and training ISS employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
  • Become expert in the assigned Industrial Support Services tasking – ensuring Desk Guides are developed, maintained, and followed as appropriate.
  • Develop and track ISS Metrics including employee qualifications and certifications.
  • Maintain and implement any tasks associated with the ISS Safety Plan and Training, hazardous pay, preventative protection equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure ISS employees are trained and qualified by interfacing with supervisors and Task Leads.
  • Team with PM to develop and maintain onboarding and offboarding processes that take place after hiring and before exit of employees.
  • Team with PM to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a supervisory/management role in industrial services support (managing technicians, logisticians).
  • Formal leadership training (supervisory, organizational management).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and training other employees.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting employees and working to create a successful and collaborative team dynamic.
  • Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to communicate effectively with the customer as well as internal employees.
  • Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully lead a team of leaders in a dynamic/unpredictable environment.
  • Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to bring structure and the ability to influence the internal workforce.
  • Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively problem solve and manage risks, anticipating and managing issues that are both present and emerging.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Experience with project management and managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Advance knowledge of MS Suite of tools (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience developing and tracking work progress using metrics.
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement using root cause methodologies.
  • Travel Required ~10% travel required (in support of INDUS corporate operations, culture, and business development activities). Likely travel sites – Hawthorne, NV; San Diego, CA.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a DoD (military, civilian, or contractor) leadership role in industrial services support (managing technicians, logisticians) versed in supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with Navy Supply.
  • Formal supply chain management training.

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $120,000 – $150,000. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
