POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for working as a general laborer in the areas of custodial services, groundskeeping and routine maintenance. This position will transition as needed between work responsibilities as determined by the District. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to cleaning facilities, trash removal, routine maintenance of facilities, painting, mowing, aeration, planting, weed eating, grass trimming, pruning of brush and trees, parking lot maintenance and athletic field lining, and snow/ice removal. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders. Ensure all facilities represent community pride of Englewood Schools to the public view.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manual labor involving all areas of grounds, maintenance and custodial services throughout District. Assist groundskeeper with the care and maintenance of all District properties: operate and maintain maintenance equipment in a safe and orderly manner. Mow, edge, weed-eat, fertilize and aerate all grounds. Pick up trash found in exterior areas. Remove snow and ice via truck, tractor or manual labor. Assist maintenance staff as requested. Actively participate in meetings, in-service, and other required training. Apply and implement knowledge, skills and new understands to support Operations, Maintenance and Transportation. May perform vehicle maintenance. May be responsible for additional duties such as facility painting and other maintenance duties. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Occasional need to sub for Head Custodian at district buildings.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: High School Graduate or equivalent. Five (5) years of general facilities maintenance and groundskeeping experience (preferred). Demonstrated experience with a variety of maintenance and grounds equipment required. Bilingual (preferred). English fluency will be determined through the interview process.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Valid Colorado Driver’s License. Must maintain driving record that meets the standards of the District insurance policy.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent lifting 5 (five) to 75 (seventy-five) pounds. Occasional lifting of up to one hundred fifty (150) pounds. Frequent to constant sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending and digging. Frequent to occasional stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling and climbing. Visual concentration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Regular exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving parts, vibration, and chemicals. Regular exposure to adverse climate and weather conditions. Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

WAGE:
$17.66-28.59 per hour, depending upon full-time job related experience.

New hires or rehires will be responsible for the $49.50 fingerprint processing fee required for background checks through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
