This position is eligible for 2.01% COLA.

Duties

  • Assistant the aquatics manager in the supervision of the aquatic programs and acts as head lifeguard.
  • Assist with the development and update of the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies.
  • Maintains adequate staffing to ensure a safe, functional, and enjoyable recreation activity.
  • Interviews and selects such staff and provides them with required orientation, training and management in order to meet all activity needs, provides transition training to outstanding volunteers to permit theme to serve in new and different areas.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, chapter 2, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic programs.
    • This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor aquatic programs and facilities.
    • Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level.
  • Current certification in Life guarding or Life guarding instructor, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent.
  • The following certificates must be obtained within 12 months of appointment:
    • Water Safety Instructor – Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Pool Operator certification.
  • The following certificate must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty:
    • AED

Education
