The Fine Arts Department at Pratt Institute invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions. Position concentrations will be in Painting at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank and in Drawing at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank, both positions to commence in Fall 2024.
Fine Arts undergraduate areas of emphasis are Painting, Drawing, Sculpture and Integrated Practices, Printmaking and Jewelry. The Fine Arts graduate program has areas of emphasis in Painting/Drawing, Sculpture, Integrated Practices, and Printmaking.
Successful candidates will teach in both graduate and undergraduate levels, play an active role in the life of the institute and provide service to the department. The ability to teach across Fine Arts areas is a plus. Successful candidates will be expected to serve as area coordinators and work alongside colleagues to strengthen their area’s vision and ensure student success.

Position Duties:
- Teach a range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Service as department Area Coordinator
- Participate in curriculum revision and development, as well as department programming, events and forums
- Participate in committee work and other services to the department and the Institute
- Advise and mentor students
- Maintain substantial creative accomplishments and participation in the field: scholarship/research/publications/conferences, etc.
- Perform all other related activities as required
Qualifications
- Candidates should have a terminal degree, MFA or equivalent required.
- Three or more years of teaching experience at the college level.
- A strong record of professional accomplishment, as demonstrated through a portfolio detailing teaching and practice, significant projects, grants, awards, publications and an active exhibition record.
- Strong understanding of historical and contemporary issues.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse populations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Salary, Benefits, and Faculty Support
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $82,500-87,500. Pratt Institute provides a comprehensive benefits package with the flexibility to meet the varying needs of a diverse group of individual employees.
