The Department of Creative Arts Therapy at Pratt Institute seeks exceptional applicants for the position of Assistant Chair for Clinical Training. In coordination with the Chair and Assistant Chair, the Assistant Chair for Clinical Training will contribute to the daily operations of the Creative Arts Therapy Department, as well as with the development, implementation, and management of the departmental academic affairs for all degree programs in Art Therapy and Dance/Movement Therapy to support and improve the educational life of students, faculty, and staff.
The Assistant Chair for Clinical Training is responsible for setting up, overseeing, and monitoring all aspects of clinical training for all Creative Arts Therapy students. The Assistant Chair for Clinical Training is a key member of the collaborative leadership team and participates in strategic decision-making to set, plan, and operationalize the department’s mission as a whole.
The Creative Arts Therapy Department was founded by Arthur Robbins and was one of the first of its kind to introduce art therapy training in the United States. Housed in the School of Art, the department offers two graduate degrees: an M.P.S. in Art Therapy & Creativity Development and an M.S. in Dance/Movement Therapy, as well as low residency versions of these programs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
S ome of the responsibilities of the Assistant Chair for Clinical Training include:
- In collaboration with the Chair and Assistant Chair, advise all Creative Arts Therapy students, determine individual internship placements, coordinate onboarding, monitor progression, and ensure timely completion.
- Develop and maintain a database of clinical training facilities, networking with local/regional settings to build/maintain partnerships and managing contracts process.
- Ensure accordance with AATA, ACATE, ADTA, NYS Education Department, accrediting bodies, and institutional standards.
- Organize and facilitate faculty and on-site supervisor meetings and produce Continuing Education events.
- Ensure up-to-date Creative Arts Therapy Internship Manual, disseminate and ensure timely return and full completion of all internship-related documentation.
- Integrate diversity and related principles into all aspects of staff engagement as appropriate, and foster the development of a positive working environment for diversity and inclusion.
- Other administrative duties and assignments, as needed.

Qualifications
Education:
- Candidates must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Art Therapy or Dance/Movement Therapy.
Skills:
- Superior interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop rapport with a diverse faculty and student body.
- Ability to work with administrative and academic leadership, faculty, and staff.
- Strong management skills and a demonstrated capacity to set and complete goals.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence and supervisory expertise
Experience & Qualifications:
- Licensure as Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) required.
- Registry / Board Certification as Art Therapist (ATR-BC) or Board Certification as a Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT) minimum required.
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience in a Graduate Art Therapy or Graduate Dance/Movement Therapy Program.
- Prior administrative or supervisory experience in an academic or clinical setting is required.
SALARY is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $71,000-$75,000. The position will be onsite 4 days/wk and hybrid as possible.
