Job Description

Reporting to the Dean of the Undergraduate College, the Assistant Dean will co-oversee the Oxley Integrated Advising Program, by providing support both inside and outside the classroom, working to obtain optimal student engagement and optimal success for our students.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • As one of two Assistant Deans, the Assistant Dean for Pathway Programs will be responsible for overseeing the Higher Educational Opportunity Program, TRiO Student Support Services, Mount Access Program, STEM Advising, and the Title V Grant.
  • Administer and assess support services and advising alongside the co-Assistant Dean for Student Engagement and Success.
  • Organize data and prepare for multiple reports throughout the year, including grant reports (HEOP, TRiO, & Title V).
  • Serve on leadership team for EAB Navigate
  • Develop yearly operating budget and track account payables and receivables.
  • Serve on administrative committees within the College…. i.e., Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, Enrollment Management Committee.
  • Work in close conjunction with the Dean of the Undergraduate College to ensure accurate and efficient program evaluation and expansion.
  • Develop and assess program and educational activities to meet the continually changing needs of students.
  • Develop and maintain academic student profiles and counseling reports, including preliminary diagnostic assessments, goal-setting, academic progress reports and service referrals.
  • Act as supervisory staff in the provision of individual and group counseling to students on academic, cultural, and personal issues.
  • Other duties are as assigned.
  • Teach one course each semester.

Requirements

  • Master Degree in education, higher education administration, counseling or a related field is preferred.
  • Five to ten years experience working in higher education.
  • Experience with post-secondary education and working with high-risk students.
  • Experience managing a budget and monitoring expenditures.
  • Accurate record keeping. Must be available for evening and weekend activities.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
