The Assistant Director, Alumni-Student Mentoring and Engagement oversees daily operations and programming related to Midd2Midd, an institution-wide, cross-department suite of programs and initiatives for alumni-student mentoring, networking, and affinity-based outreach, with 9,000 student, alumni, and parent members. Helps to integrate alumni into career education and experiential learning initiatives in service of the cultivation of career readiness and robust parent and alumni volunteer engagement. This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $53,035 – $66,320 per annually.
Core Responsibilities:
• Supports and aligns all Midd2Midd initiatives with the Center for Careers and Internships (CCI’s) alumni-student mentoring strategy.
• Facilitates MiddMentors program-including mentor-mentee orientation and training, matching, and curriculum implementation.
• Handles Midd2Midd daily operations pertaining to platform management, constituent records updates and management, user support, and vendor management.
• Contributes to the development and execution of communication plans and marketing/outreach campaigns designed to promote and educate the Middlebury community on Midd2Midd programming and encourage participation.
• Collaborates with colleagues in within the Center for Careers and Internships and across campus to integrate Midd2Midd offerings into student advisory work, programming, and College strategic initiatives.
• Helps to facilitate career programming and experiential learning opportunities, particularly those that integrate alumni and cultivate robust parent and alumni volunteer engagement.
• Works closely with Senior Associate Director of Career Education to facilitate review and authorization of Curricular Practical Training for international students.
• Promotes and advances the Center’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in all programming, resources, and advising.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience required. Some background in higher education is strongly desired and/or demonstrated experience in working with college-age and diverse populations.
• Understanding of mentoring and networking and best practices-particularly as related to higher education and diverse student populations strongly desired.
• Experience in facilitating workshops and presentations.
• Ability to successfully work independently as well as in a team environment with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and dependability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, relationship-building, and problem-solving. Ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse body of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability and aptitude for managing technical platforms, tracking and updating constituent records, reporting, and program assessment.
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, google applications, and other standard programs.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Some travel to sites off-campus and occasional work on weekends and evenings is required.
• Several hours per day may be spent in a private or shared office working at a desk, with extensive computer and monitor use, or at meetings.
