Reporting to the Director of Admissions for the Innovation Campus, the Assistant Director of Enrollment Services, Professionally oriented Graduate Programs assist in formulating a strategic recruitment plan, evaluate admission applications, and coordinate scholarship awarding processes for professionally oriented graduate programs, with a particular focus on the Master of Engineering (MENG) in Computer Engineering (CPE) and Computer Science & Applications (CSA) program. This role will entail independent decision making in admissions and scholarships processes and close collaboration with various university units, including marketing and communications, the Graduate School, academic departments, and the Division of Enrollment Management to implement cutting-edge recruitment and admissions practices and strategies.
The Assistant Director of Enrollment Services, Professionally oriented Graduate Programs will lead recruitment efforts including but not limited to the following: promotion of accelerated Masters with Virginia Tech and partner school undergraduates, implementation of the “Direct to Tech” early admission program, promotion of graduate programs at national and regional conferences, digital recruitment through social media and email campaigns, promotion of programs through engagement with alumni and community groups, and cultivation of collaborations with Virginia K-12 schools and community colleges in the promotion and pipeline building for graduate programs.
The Assistant Director of Enrollment Services, Professionally oriented Graduate Programs will develop and implement systems for analyses of outcomes across graduate programs for the tracking of applicants from the beginning of the recruitment funnel through enrollment and of enrolled students through graduation. EM Coordinator will support the strategy and operations related to graduate recruitment and enrollment management for the professionally oriented graduate degree programs.
This position may be eligible for hybrid or remote work.
This position is based out of Blacksburg, VA.
The person hired in this position will have flexibility in work location with commutable distance to Virginia Tech campuses (including Northern Virginia) and partner institutions. Tech campuses (including Northern Virginia) and partner institutions.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or Bachelor’s plus relevant experience in academic setting, specifically in the areas of recruitment, admission, and STEM student success.
• Demonstrated data analysis skills
• Experience building data driven recruitment and admissions strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience reviewing academic records and providing admissions decisions
Preferred Qualifications
• Evidence of project management experience
• Experience with student information systems, preferably Banner and Navigate
Experience with enrollment management system,
Evidence of working with diverse populations
• Knowledge of graduate student recruitment and admissions
• Experience with territory management
• Experience providing student services to improve retention
