Position Type: Assistant Director for Food and Nutrition Services
Scheduled Hours: 8 hours/day – This is a 12 month position
Salary Range: $58,000 – $75,000 (Depending on Experience)
Description: Responsibilities of position are the following;
- Maintain nutritional and operational integrity of each USDA Child Nutrition Program following all USDA and CSDE (Connecticut State Department of Education) meal patterns and regulations
- Managing and motivating hourly cafeteria associates and kitchen managers
- Assists in menu planning and development
- Assists in managing all special catering operations and events
- Assists in maintaining strict adherence of all sanitation policies and procedures
- Assists in managing labor, staffing and employee training, and maintains supervision of payroll records
- Conducts monthly inventories as needed
- Assist in maintaining all financial documents and paperwork
- Produces daily production sheets and recipes according to the USDA and CSDE guidelines
- Assists in the maintenance of all State and Federal paperwork and records
- Maintains excellent rapport with students, staff, teachers, and administrators
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of three years supervisor experience in a Food Service setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Service management, Food & Beverage Management, Nutrition and Dietetics, or Business desired, but will consider past experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have good oral & written skills
- Must have excellent word processing & computer skills & be proficient in Excel and Word programs.
- Must be certified in Food Safety
- Must be willing and able to travel between each school, and to various school nutrition training sessions throughout the State.
All candidates will be considered based upon length of service and work record.

This position is a 12 month position with an average of 40 hours per week.
