Description of Job
This 12-month, year-round, full-time position provides an Assistant Director of Sports Communications/Branding and Social Media for the Department of Athletics. This position will handle various sports information responsibilities under the direction of the Director of Sports Communications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating, leading and managing all branding, social media and other creative services for the Department, including maintenance of the department’s website, special event promotions along with pre- and post-game graphics, video board graphics and videos in coordination with the Media Center, our production team. This position will also coordinate live streaming and operational support for the ThunderTron and Massari Arena video boards. Coordination of in-game statistics, maintaining statistical records, completing RMAC and NCAA reporting, nominating and promoting student-athletes, coaches and other staff for academic and athletic awards and serving as the main media contact for several assigned sports will also be expected. This position will also write news releases, game stories and feature articles and will provide oversight and training for sports information students and interns. This individual will assume other duties assigned by the Director of Sports Communications, Associate Athletic Director for External Relations and the Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.
Primary Duties
Create, lead and manage all branding, social media accounts and other creative services for the Department, including maintenance of the department’s website and special event promotions along with pre- and post-game graphics, video board graphics and videos in coordination with the Media Center, our production team.
Under the direction of the Director of Sports Communications, coordinate in-game statistics, maintain statistical records, complete RMAC and NCAA reporting forms and serve as main media contact for several assigned sports; nominate and promote student-athletes, coaches and other staff for academic and athletic awards; develop and produce selected game programs; and write news releases, game stories and feature articles.
Coordinate live streaming and operational support for the ThunderTron and Massari Arena video boards and video highlight packages for designated events.
Provide oversight and training of sports information students and interns.
Ancillary Duties:
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Communications, Associate Athletic Director/Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.
Salary Range:
$37,000 – $43,000

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution
- Willing and able to work nights and weekends
- Experience in the area of sports information specifically in statistics, media communications, brand management and social media
- Experience in a position that required skills in cooperation, organization, communication and problem solving
