The Office of Disciplinary Counsel seeks to hire an inspired, positive, and collaborative litigator for the position of Assistant Disciplinary Counsel. The candidate must have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, be admitted and in good standing in Ohio or another state,* and have practiced law for a minimum of five years. The ideal candidate will possess a strong and proven courtroom presence, a commitment to the highest ethical standards, and the desire to join a dedicated and collaborative team of professionals. This position reports directly to Disciplinary Counsel.
What you’ll do:
• The Assistant Disciplinary Counsel will be responsible for investigating and prosecuting lawyers, judges, magistrates accused of ethical misconduct, and individuals alleged to have engaged in the unauthorized practice of law.
• The Assistant Disciplinary Counsel will manage an active caseload, represent Disciplinary Counsel in hearings before the Board of Professional Conduct and Board on the Unauthorized Practice of Law, and argue objections before the Supreme Court of Ohio.
• The Assistant Disciplinary Counsel will assist in educating the bench and bar through CLE presentations, training sessions, and other outreach initiatives.
• The position requires some travel throughout the state. The outside practice of law is prohibited.

Qualifications
What we are looking for…
• An attorney registered as active and in good standing in Ohio or another state.*
• A minimum of five years’ experience as a practicing lawyer, proven success as a courtroom litigator, and a command of the Rules of Evidence.
• A strong understanding of the Rules of Professional Conduct, the Code of Judicial Conduct, and the Rules for the Government of the Bar.
