Overview
The Assistant Executive Steward, under the supervision of the Executive Steward, assists in the direction and management of the stewarding staff consisting of Stewards and Dishwashers. The Assistant Executive Steward is responsible for all food distribution and back of house set up and tear down. The Assistant Executive Steward will assist in pulling and staging all equipment prior to set-up, during the event and during clean-up. Oversight of all catering equipment will be maintained, stored and inventoried. Assist in other areas of Kitchen, catering, concession, retail and event spaces as required. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.
This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management and independent decision-making skills are required.
This role will pays a wage of $55,000-$63,000.

Responsibilities
• Oversight and supervision of stewardng and dishwashing staff.
• Assist catering staff with buffet sets and break down as needed
• Reporting equipment damage and/or repairs to Executive Steward.
• Assist in keeping dock areas clean and organized
• Supervision of food distribution of assigned area/event.
• Sort and remove trash, compost and clean after usage
• Responsible for assigning staff tasks and supervision of cleanliness in back of house food areas such as kitchen and breakroom.
• Maintains a positive and compliant employee relations climate
• Ensures compliance with health, sanitation, safety and employment regulations by clearly communicating standards and procedures to all staff
• Maintain a clean and organized back of house areas for the food and beverage operations
Qualifications
• 2-4 years experience working in a kitchen, building maintenance, or banquet facility preferred.
• Ability to positively communicate and create a productive work climate with other co-workers & managers
• Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a continuously changing event environment.
• Ability to be self-directed on tasks as well as work with a team.
• Ability to work a flexible event based schedule including nights, weekends and long hours.
• Union experience preferred
