General Description / Primary Purpose
This is work assisting with the management of maintenance programs for the university.
Essential Duties
Job Function
This internal recruitment is open to current University of North Florida employees only.
Determines training program needs. Plans and carries out scheduling of maintenance projects. Assists in budget planning and recommends operating policies and procedures. Develops and implements a preventative maintenance program. Supervises renovation and construction projects and prepares cost estimates. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Construction management and inspection a) ensures all required contractor installed parts are installed properly and contract services are completed in a timely manner; b) ensures contractor compliance with all university and department polices and procedures; c) inspects all department and contracted repairs to chiller and boiler equipment; d) insures that all construction debris generated during installation/repair of chillers and boilers is removed and properly disposed. 7. Supplementary responsibilities. a) work orders; b) campus emergencies; c) minor plumbing and electrical repair; d)assists other trades as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Completion of an approved apprenticeship program or multiple trades and two year of experience directly related to the job functions; or a high school diploma and five years of experience directly related to the job functions. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
