Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager – ADS, the Assistant Manager – Attended Donations Stations trains and leads Donation Attendant team members to achieve customer service and logistics goals through receiving donations, loading, unloading, and staging product by following standard procedures, observing OSHA compliance requirements and working safely. The Assistant Manager – ADS is responsible for the safety of team members and for taking care of team members by making delivery of mission services to them a high priority, the delivery of excellent customer service at all times and properly safeguarding and handling customer donations to maximize their value to our mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Understand and commit to mission services delivery to retail team members as a high priority in production operations. Work collaboratively with life skills coaches and HR to perform this mission.
  2. Establish a culture of compliance with safety, ethics and quality standards within all operations.
  3. Provide leadership, training, guidance and support to team members that foster continuous learning and improvement in performance of the individual and the operation.
  4. Build production success by properly selecting, training, mentoring and developing employees. Ensure leadership example priority is people and mission. Build strong teamwork throughout the ADS organization.
  5. Demonstrates a passion for customer service, leadership by example, professionalism, courtesy and excellence in communicating agency mission, benefits, values and appreciation to the donor-customer. Successfully addresses and resolves all donor customer complaints, issues and concerns.
  6. Remain in constant communication with ADS Team Members to insure locations are fully staffed and stay appraised of current overall ADS donation flow situation.
  7. Be attentive to turnover, encouraging positive movement for employees, whether inside or outside Goodwill. Minimize no-call/no-show behaviors through effective individual employee communications.
  8. Engage employees through servant leadership and modeling of expected work ethic. Take professional interest in employees’ needs to develop them and facilitate positive change as needed.
  9. In conjunction with Manager – Warehouse Operations, develop and deploy effective staffing models and scheduling procedures to achieve the most effective and efficient operations within budget. Monitor progress on a daily basis.
  10. In conjunction with Manager – warehouse Operations, develop, modify and ensure procedures are properly trained and correctly implemented, and that all areas of responsibility are efficiently staffed to meet and exceed fulfillment and quality goals to reduce goods stored in warehouse.
  11. Train, coach, monitor and continuously improve customer experience and mission messaging at donation stations, to meet and exceed expected standards.
  12. Participate in logistics planning, goal setting, and expense management, developing process improvement standards and measuring achievements.
  13. Champion regular communications with all employees to ensure current information about Goodwill’s initiatives, programs, benefits, announcements, and goals, progress against goals, expectations and accountabilities are consistently reinforced.
  14. Effectively utilize prioritization, multi-tasking and problem solving skills to provide excellent customer service and advance Agency mission and vision.
  15. Work closely and collaboratively with Manager – Warehouse Operations to maximize efficiency of donation flow.
  16. Works in close collaboration with Ryder Transportation Manager to insure timely and efficient, regularly scheduled donation pickup for all ADS locations.
  17. Take a proactive role in protecting the organization’s assets and resources by appropriately controlling expenses. Minimize shrinkage through direct observation procedures, and take immediate corrective action as needed.
  18. Prepare and deliver timely performance appraisals for direct reports; coordinate with Human Resources to administer rewards and recognition, transfers, corrective actions or dismissals in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  19. Inspects ADS facilities to ensure compliance with agency Safety guidelines.
  20. Works under the direct supervision of the Manager – Warehouse Operations. Represents the agency with integrity, in the community it serves.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School diploma; some college strongly preferred; bachelor’s degree in management, operations or similar field a plus.
  2. Minimum 1 year experience supervising production and/or retail operations using standardized quality and productivity processes to achieve revenue, productivity, net income and other key performance goals for the organization.
  3. Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  4. Experience in non-profits and human services work environments a strong plus.
  5. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  6. Lift up to 40 pounds in support of donation and production areas.
  7. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  8. For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
