Overview

The Assistant Manager of Stadium Operations at FairPark will report to the Assistant General Manager and partner closely with other management teams, including the Stadium Operations Manager. Responsible for managing staff in turf management, collaborating with departmental leads and serve as a liaison for major broadcast events.

This role will pay a wage of $75,000 to $80,000.

FairPark Dallas is a 277-acre, multi-venue complex and public park located in South Dallas, TX. Home to 7 cultural institutions, iconic Cotton Bowl Stadium and the State Fair of TX. FairPark Dallas is the largest collection of Art Deco Architecture in the US and is designated as a National Historic Landmark.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all elements associated with turf and turf management for Cotton Bowl Stadium and the Community Park including development of daily mowing cycle, fertilization, and soil reports.
  • Develops and manages staff for turf management.
  • Oversees turf management equipment and equipment maintenance.
  • Assists with operations and maintenance of the stadium and all systems.
  • Assists as liaison with the local authorities for numerous facility-related functions (City Codes, Parking, Permits, etc.).
  • Manage the workload and development of associates on the Turf Management Team, ensuring consistent practices in line with other OVG360 departments.
  • Collaborate/Liaise with Departmental Leads to ensure a high level of communication well in advance of events/needs.
  • In conjunction with the Stadium Operations Manager, weekly inspect the facilities for anything that could potentially be unsafe or cause a problem.
  • In conjunction with the Stadium Operations Manager, develop an annual maintenance plan for Cotton Bowl Stadium.
  • Oversee all field painting and associated equipment.
  • Recommends and manages procurement of new stadium equipment.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and recommend modifications to operational plans based on feasibility.
  • Maintain a high operational efficiency while always working to further enhance the overall client experience.
  • Supervise the annual installation and removal of the stadium bleachers.
  • Serve as the TV liaison for all major broadcast events.
  • Work with the Security team to plan and direct appropriate training programs to all associates, as needed.
  • Support client events with all aspects of game and event management, as needed.
  • Represent Fair Park Dallas and OVG360 and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Game Day/Event Day Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-game walk thru of the turf and player/entertainer areas to ensure a safe, pristine environment for athletes, performers, fans and staff.
  • Serve as TV Liaison for game/event day production activities.
  • Assist in the execution of all game day/ event day activities at Cotton Bowl Stadium.
  • Ensure the staff for housekeeping, fan services, security, ticketing, parking and game/event day staff are in place, ready to go well in advance of doors, during the game/event, and through post-event activities.
  • Liaise with Operations Departmental leads to ensure compliance with the above.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have 5 + yrs experience in development and implementation of fertility and practices of natural grasses and synthetic playing surfaces & playing surfaces and landscapes of athletic facilities.
  • Must have 5 or more years experience in managing turf operations and overseeing field painting
  • Licenced applicator for pestisides and turf management
